All most all the times our decisions and deeds do affect others, God and our own selves. The consequences are inevitable. We need to ask ourselves the following questions before we make decisions. Bad decision means bad future. So in order to take right and good decisions, we got to go in line with scriptures.
1. WILL IT BRING GLORY TO GOD? - 1 Cor 10:31 “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” God must be taken as the first concern in all that we do.
2. WILL IT BE PROFITABLE? 1 Cor 10:23 “Everything is permissible-but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"-but not everything is constructive.” Our decisions should profit my Christian life, my witnessing life or my family life.
3. WILL IT EDIFY? 2 Cor 10:8 “… the Lord gave us for building you up rather than pulling you down,…” Our decisions should build our character or the family and the church in general.
4. WILL IT ENSLAVE ME ? 1 Cor 6:12 "Everything is permissible for me"-but I will not be mastered by anything.” Our decisions should not bring us to slavery.
5. WILL IT CHARACTERISTIC OF THE WORLD (or) OF THE LORD? 1 John 2:16 “For everything in the world — the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does — comes not from the Father but from the world.” Let our decisions show forth the attributes of God and not of the world.
