ராஜாவின் வேலையைத் துரிதமாய் செய்யவேண்டும்

மத்தேயு 2:13 ல் வரும் காட்சி: தேவதூதன் தூங்கும் யோசேப்பிடம், கனவில் வந்து குழந்தை இயேசுவுடன், மனைவி மரியாளையும் கூட்டிகொண்டு துரிதமாய் எகிப்துக்கு பயணிக்கும்படிச் சொல்கிறான்.

தாவீது அகிமெலக்கைப் பார்த்து "ராஜாவின் வேலையை துரிதமாய் செய்யவேண்டும். இங்கு ஏதாவது ஈட்டியாவது, பட்டயமாவது இருக்கிறதா? எனக்கு அவசரமாக தேவைப்படுகிறது"என்றான். (1சாமு 21:8). இங்கு தாவீது, அகிமெலேக் என்ற ஆசாரியனிடம்  ஒரு அப்பட்டமான பொய்  சொல்லுகிறான்.    ஆபத்திற்கு பொய் தப்பில்லை என்று உலகமக்கள் கூறினாலும் பொய் என்பது பொய்தான். அது  உண்மையாக மாறமுடியாது. இருப்பினும் சில சமயங்களில் இப்படிப்பட்ட பொய்களில்கூட சில நடைமுறை சத்தியங்கள் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது என்ற உண்மைதான் நமது மனித வாழ்க்கையில் புரியாத புதிராக இருக்கிறது. இந்த இடத்தில் தாவீது யாருமே இல்லாத ஒரு அனாதையாக காட்சியளிக்கிறார். இந்த உலகத்தில் நட்பிற்கு ஒரு இலக்கணமாக விளங்கிய தாவீது - யோனத்தான் நட்பும்கூட இங்கு உதவ முடியவில்லை. தாவீதும், யோனத்தானும் கடைசியாக சந்தித்தபின்பு அந்த நண்பர்கள் பிரிவதை வேதம் இப்படி விளக்குகிறது. "இருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் கட்டிப்பிடித்து, ஆசை தீர அழுதுவிட்டு - யோனத்தான் தன் அப்பாவின் அரண்மனைக்குப்போனான். தாவீது எழுந்துபோனான்". (20:41-43). தாவீது எழுந்து எங்கே போனான்? கால்போன போக்கிலே போயிருப்பான். எதிர்காலத்தில் அரசனாகப் போகிறவன் இன்று அனாதையாக இருக்கிறான்.ஆண்டவரின் அணுகுமுறைகள் - தனது பிள்ளைகளை பயிற்சிக்கும்முறை     சிலசமயம் கொடுமையாக - கடுமையாக - Cruel ஆக இருக்கிறது.  கனவில் நடப்பதுபோல கால்போன திசையில் நடந்துபோகையில் - அகிமெலேக் என்ற ஆசாரியர் தாவீதின் நினைவிற்கு வந்தார். தேசத்தின் ஹீரோவாக இருந்த தாவீதை இப்பொழுது தேசதுரோகி என்ற பட்டத்தை சவுல் ராஜா அவனுக்கு சூட்டிவிட்டார். இந்த சூழ்நிலையில் ராஜாவுக்கு எதிரியானவனை நாட்டின் எந்த மூலைக்கு போனாலும் யாரும் தாவீதை தங்கள் வீட்டிற்குள் அனுமதிக்கமாட்டார்கள் என்பது எல்லோருக்கும் தெரிந்த ஒரு ரகசியம். இப்படிப்பட்ட ஒருஇக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலையில்தான் அகிமெலேக் என்ற ஆசாரியனிடத்தில்போய் தஞ்சம்புகுந்து - பல நாட்களாக சாப்பிடாமல் இருந்த அவன் சாப்பிட ஏதாவது இருக்கிறதா? என்று அவன் கேட்க - உண்மையிலேயே அந்த ஆசாரியனிடத்தில் சாப்பாடு இல்லை. பலிபீடத்தில் படைக்கப்பட்டதில் மிச்சமிருந்தது  ஆசாரியர்கள்மட்டும் சாப்பிடும் அப்பம் ஆகும். அதை மற்றவர்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. அதாவது இன்றைய பாஷையில் இராபோஜனத்திற்கு பலிபீடத்தில் - வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் அப்பம் மாத்திரமே இருக்கிறது. அதை தாவீது சாப்பிட்டு தனது பசியை ஆற்றிக்கொண்டான். இப்படிப்பட்ட சூழலில் தாவீது கீழே தரப்பட்டுள்ள வார்த்தைகளை சொல்கிறான்.

"ராஜாவின் வேலையை துரிதமாக செய்யவேண்டும்". இந்த வார்த்தைகளைத்தான் நாம் இப்பொழுது சிந்திக்கப்போகிறோம். ராஜாவாகிய ஆண்டவர் நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் கொடுத்திருக்கிற பணியை சீக்கிரமாக நாம் செய்துமுடிக்கவேண்டும். மனித வாழ்க்கையில் செய்யவேண்டிய காரியங்களை - செய்து முடிப்பது ஓர் அரிய செயல். ஆனால் அந்த காரியத்தை செய்யவேண்டிய காலகட்டத்திற்குள் செய்து முடிப்பது அதைக்காட்டிலும் அரிய பெரிய செயலாகும். காலதாமதமாக, ஒரு காரியத்தை ஏனோதானோ என்று செய்து கடைசி நேரத்தில் காலம் கடந்துசெய்து முடிப்பதில் பிரயோசனமில்லை. Delayed Justice is Injustice. காலதாமதமாக கொடுக்கப்படும் நீதி - அநீதி என்ற வாசகம் - நீதித்துறைக்கு மாத்திரமல்ல, நமது மனித வாழ்க்கைக்கும் அது சாலப்பொருந்தும். 15 ஆண்டுகள் வழக்கு விசாரிக்கப்பட்டு, 15 ஆண்டுகள் விசாரணை என்ற பெயரில் சிறை வாழ்க்கை சிறைவாசம் அனுபவித்த ஒரு மனிதனுக்கு நீதிமன்றம் காலம்கடந்து இவர் குற்றம் செய்யவில்லை என்று ஒருதீர்ப்பு வழங்குவதில் என்ன பிரயோஜனம்? ஆம்! அநீதி பாவத்தைக்காட்டிலும் பாவமானசெயல் என்பதை நாம் மறக்கக்கூடாது. இப்படி குற்றம் செய்யாத லட்சக்கணக்கான நிரபராதிகள் தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்படாமல் விசாரணை கைதிகளாக சிறையில் தண்டனை அனுபவிப்பது என்ன கொடுமை. வாழவேண்டிய நாட்களை குற்றம் செய்யாமல் சிறையில் கழிப்பது எத்தனை கொடுமை. இந்தியாவில் இந்த கொடுமைகள் மிக அதிகம். அரசாங்கம் இதற்கு சீக்கிரம் பரிகாரம் தேடவேண்டும் இது மிக அவசியம். நமது வாழ்க்கையில் நாம் செய்யவேண்டிய வேலையை ஏற்ற சமயத்தில் செய்து முடிப்பதுதான் திறமை, அது பாராட்டப்பட வேண்டியதாகும். எனது சொந்த அனுபவத்தில் நான் கண்ட ஒரு நடைமுறை உண்மையை உங்களிடம் பகிர்ந்துக்கொள்ளவிரும்புகிறேன். ஒரு வேலையை சூட்டோடு சூடாக நீங்கள் செய்துமுடிக்க தவறும்போது - அதாவது காற்றுள்ள போதே தூற்றிக்கொள்ளதவறினால் - அந்த வேலையை கொஞ்சம் ஆறப்போட்டால், அந்த வேலை அப்படியே கிடப்பில் முடங்கி கிடந்துவிடும். சீக்கிரத்தில் அந்த வேலையை முற்றிலுமாக நாம் மறந்துபோய்   விடுவோம். ஒரு முக்கியமான கடிதத்திற்கு பதில் அப்புறம் எழுதிக்கொள்ளலாம் என்று 2, 3 தடவை அதை தள்ளிப்போட்டால், சில நாட்கள் கழித்து அந்த கடிதம் காணாமலேயேபோய்விடும்;. இந்த உண்மையைத் தான் இயேசு நமக்கு இப்படியாக சொல்லுகிறார். "அந்தந்த நாளுக்கு அதன் அதன் பாடுபோதும்" (மத் 6:34). ஒவ்வொருநாளும் நாம் செய்யவேண்டிய பணிகளை, நாளைக்கு நாளைக்கு என்று சொல்லி வேலையைத்தள்ளிப்போட்டு வேலையை பளுவாக்கி சில நாட்களின் செய்யவேண்டிய வேலைகளை ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக வைத்து ஒரே நாளில் செய்ய முற்பட்டு Breakdown ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள். அந்தந்த நாளிலேயே உங்களது வேலையை அவ்வப்பொழுதே செய்து முடித்துவிட பழகுங்கள். வேதபுத்தகத்தில் சில முக்கியமான வேலைகளை உடனே, காலதாமதம் இல்லாமல், துரிதமாக செய்துமுடிக்கும்படியாக ஆண்டவர் நமக்கு கட்டளையிடுவதை நாம் வாசிக்கலாம். அந்த பணிகள் அனைத்தும் உடனடியாக செய்யப்படவேண்டும். காலதாமதம் உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து. அப்படி துரிதமாக செய்யப்படவேண்டிய பணிகள் என்னென்ன, எவை, எவை - என்பதை கீழே கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வேத வசனங்கள் மூலமாக நாம் சிந்திக்கப்போகிறோம். 1.உன் உயிர் தப்ப வேகமாக ஓடிப்போ (ஆதி 19:22) நமது ஆன்மீக ரட்சிப்பு. 2.குழந்தையின் உயிரைக் காப்பாற்ற விரைந்து செல். (2 ராஜ 4:24). 3.இயேசுவின் நற்செய்தியை வீதிகளுக்கும், சந்துகளுக்கும் விரைந்து சென்று சொல்லுங்கள் (லூக் 14:21). 4.கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணவும் அவரைத் தேடவும் விரைந்து செல்வோம் வாருங்கள்(சகா 8:21). 5.கடவுளின் ஆலயத்தை பழுதுபார்க்க பணம் சேகரிக்க விரைந்து செல்லுங்கள். (2 நாளா 24:5). மேலே கொடுக்கப்பட்ட 5 குறிப்புகளையும் ஒவ்வொன்றாக சிந்திக்கப்போகிறோம். 1. உன் உயிர் தப்ப வேகமாக ஓடிப்போ: அந்த இரண்டு தூதர்களும் லோத்தை நோக்கி, "இந்த பட்டணத்திற்கு வரப்போகும் அழிவிலிருந்து தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள, எழுந்து உன் மனைவி, பிள்ளைகளையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வேகமாக ஒடி தப்பித்துக்கொள்" என்று கூறி அவனை துரிதப்படுத்தினார்கள். (ஆதி 19:14-22). ( இவ்விடம் விட்டு உடனே புறப்படு ....) 1(a).நமது ஆன்மீக இரட்சிப்பு: ராஜாவின் வேலையை நாம் துரிதமாக செய்வதற்கு முன்பு - முதலாவது நாம் துரிதமாக வேகமாக செய்யவேண்டியகாரியம் - நமது ஆன்மீக இரட்சிப்பு. இது இல்லாமல் ராஜாவின் வேலையை செய்யமுடியாது. "என் ஆத்துமா இரட்சிக்கபடாமலேயே, நான் ஆண்டவருடைய பணியை நான் செய்துவந்தேன் என்று கூறுவது பெரிய தவறு" என்று எழுதுகிறார் - ஜான் வெஸ்லி. ஆம்! முதலாவது நமது ஆத்துமா இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும். அதற்கு ஆண்டவர் கொடுக்கும் ஆலோசனை - "உன் ஜீவன் தப்ப விரைவாக ஒடு, சோதோம் பட்டணத்தின் அழிவிலிருந்து தப்ப வேகமாக ஓடு" இங்கே லோத்து அந்தப் பட்டணத்தைவிட்டு வெளியேற சண்டித்தனம் பண்ணுகிறார். ஏதாவது காரணம் சொல்லி, ஊரைவிட்டு கிளம்ப காலதாமதம் செய்கிறார். இது ஆபத்தானது. 1. கைக்கடிகாரம் கிடைத்தது - வாழ்க்கை தொலைந்துவிட்டது. 25, 30 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு நீலகிரி மலையில் குன்னூர் பகுதிகளில் வெள்ளமும், மண்சரிவும் ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது. எனக்குத்தெரிந்த ஒரு குடும்பத்தின் சோககதையை என்னால் மறக்கமுடியாது. வீட்டிற்குள் தண்ணீர் வந்தபோது அப்படியே வெளியே ஓடியிருந்தால், அந்த மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி மாணவி உயிர் தப்பியிருப்பாள். ஆனால் வீட்டிற்குள் இருந்த தனது கைக்கடிகாரத்தை எடுக்கப்போனவள், அப்படியே சகதியில் சிக்கி மீளமுடியாமல் மாண்டுபோனாள் என்ன பரிதாபம்!. ஒரு சின்ன சபலம் - அந்த கைக்கடிகாரத்தை மீட்கப்போனவள் தன் முழு வாழ்க்கையையும் தொலைத்துவிட்டாள். அதேபோலத்தான், ஆற்றில் மிதந்த பலாபழத்தை எடுக்க - தனது கைக்குழந்தையை ஆற்றங்கரையில் போட்டுவிட்டுபோன ஒரு பெண் - பலாபழத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு கரைக்கு வந்தபோது - கைக்குழந்தை ஆற்றோடு தண்ணீரில் போய்விட்டது. என்ன முட்டாள்தனம். நம் வாழ்க்கையில் எதற்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்பதை அறியவேண்டும். லோத்தின் குடும்பத்திற்கும் இதே கதிதான். லோத்தையும் அவனது குடும்பத்தையும் காப்பாற்றும் நோக்கத்திற்காக அந்த இரண்டு தூதர்களும் சோதோம் கொமாரா பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்திருந்தார்கள். அந்த தேவதூதர்கள் இவர்கள்மேல் இரக்கம் பாராட்டி அந்த பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அழிவைக் கரைபோட்டுத் தடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அதனால்தான் அவர்கள் லோத்தை அழிவிலிருந்து தப்பி ஓடும்படியாக அவசரப்படுத்தினார்கள். இதை வாசிக்கிற நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ராஜாவின் வேலையை நாம் துரிதமாக செய்யவேண்டுமானால், முதலாவது நாம் இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும். இந்த உலகிற்கு வரப்போகும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பிலிருந்தும், அழிவிலிருந்தும் நாம் தப்பி ஓடவேண்டும். இவ்வளவு பெரிதான இரட்சிப்பைக் குறித்து அக்கரையில்லாமல் இருந்தீர்களானால், வரவிருக்கும் தேவனுடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கும், தண்டனைக்கும் எப்படி தப்புவீர்கள்? என்று எபிரேயு நிருபத்தின் ஆக்கியோன் கேட்கிறார். எல்லா மனிதர்களும் இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்றும் சத்தியத்தை அறிகிற அறிவையும் அடைய வேண்டும் என்றும் தேவன் சித்தமுள்ளவராகயிருக்கிறார் - என்று வேத வசனம் போதிக்கிறது. 1(b).உங்கள் இரட்சிப்பை தள்ளிப்போடாதீர்கள் - சாத்தான் மகாநாடு:  அநேக ஆத்துமாக்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவதை எப்படி தடுத்து நிறுத்துவது என்பதைப்பற்றி விவாதிக்க சாத்தான் மகாநாடு ஒன்று நடந்ததாம். அந்த மகாநாட்டில் மக்கள் ஆண்டவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதை எப்படியாவது தடுக்கவேண்டும் என்ற தலைப்பில் காரசாரமாக விவாதம் நடந்துகொண்டிருந்ததாம். அங்கே வந்திருந்த ஒவ்வொரு குட்டி பிசாசும் தங்களுக்கு தெரிந்த யோசனைகளை கொடுத்தார்கள். ஒரு பிசாசு, "சாத்தான் ஐயா, கப்பலில் பிரயாணம் செய்கிற மிஷனரிகள் - விமானத்தில் பறக்கும் மிஷனரிகள். இவர்கள் அனைவரும் கடலில் புயலை அனுப்பி கப்பலை கவிழ்ப்பேன் - ஆகாயத்தில் விமான விபத்து நடக்கவைப்பேன். மலைவாழ் ஜாதிமக்களும், மிஷனரிகள் இல்லாமல், பிரசங்கிப்பார் இல்லாமல் அழிந்து நரகத்திற்குபோகவேண்டும். என்னுடைய திட்டம் இதுதான் எப்படி?" என்று கேட்டது. அதற்கு சாத்தான், இது நல்லதொரு திட்டமல்ல, கப்பல் கவிழந்தாலும், விமானம் விழுந்து நொறுங்கினாலும், மற்ற மிஷனரிகள் மலைவாழ் மக்களிடம் தொடர்ந்து செல்வார்கள். இன்னொரு குட்டி பிசாசு, "ஐயா, தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாக கடவுள் இல்லை - இல்லவே இல்லை என்று போதிக்கும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான புத்தகங்கள் எழுதப்பட்டு விநியோகிக்கப்பட்டால், கடவுள்மேல் மக்கள் வைத்திருக்கும் நம்பிக்கை சின்னாபின்னமாகிவிடும்." கூட்டம் நடக்காதபடிக்கு கலவரத்தை உண்டுபண்ணிவிடுவது - பிரசங்கியார் பிரசங்கம் பண்ணும்போது, அவரது தொண்டையை பிடித்துவிடுவது - இப்படி பல ஆலோசனைகளை பல குட்டிப் பிசாசுகள் கொடுத்தன. ஆனால் சாத்தான் அவற்றை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள மறுத்துவிட்டான். கடைசியாக ஒரு குட்டி பிசாசு, "ஐயா, எனக்கு ஒரு சின்ன யோசனை. அநேகர் கூட்டத்திற்கு வரட்டும், தேவனுடைய செய்தியை கேட்கட்டும். ஆனால் மக்கள் இயேசுவை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முன்வரும்போது, நான் அவர்களது செவிகளில் நீ இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும், கட்டாயம் இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும். ஆனால் இன்றைக்கு வேண்டாம், இன்னொரு நாளைக்கு பார்த்துக்கொள்ளலாம் - என்று ஆலோசனை கூறுவேன்" என்றான். உடனே சாத்தான் "சபாஷ். பலே! இதுதான் மிகச்சிறந்த யோசனை. உடனே சென்று இதைசெயல்படுத்துங்கள்" என்று சாத்தான் எல்லா பிசாசுகளுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டானாம். ஆகவே அருமையான வாசகரே, இரட்சிப்பை தள்ளிப்போடாதே! தாமதப்படுத்தாதே! உடனே மனம்திரும்பு. பேலிக்ஸ் - அக்ரிப்பா ராஜா: இதைத்தான் பேலிக்ஸ் ஆளுநர் செய்தார். பவுல் நீதியைக்குறித்தும், நியாயத் தீர்ப்பை குறித்தும், பிரசங்கித்த போது, பயமடைந்து "இப்பொழுது நீ போகலாம், எனக்கு நேரம் கிடைக்கும்போது இன்னொரு நாளைக்கு பார்க்கலாம்" என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பிவிடுகிறான். (அப் 24:25). அதேபோல அகிரிப்பா ராஜாவிடம் பவுல் தனது சாட்சியை சொன்னபோது "நீ என்னை கிறிஸ்துவனாக மாற்றப் பார்க்கிறாயா? என்னை ஏறக்குறைய பாதிக்கிறிஸ்துவனாக மாற்றிவிட்டாய்?" என்று பதில் கூறுகிறார் (அப் 26:28). அதற்கு பவுல் - "நீர் மாத்திரமல்ல, இங்கே இருக்கிற எல்லோரும், பாதிக்கிறிஸ்துவர்களாக அல்ல, முழு கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக மாறவேண்டும் - என்பதுதான் என் விருப்பம். எனது வேண்டுகோள்" என்று தைரியமாக பவுல் சொல்கிறான். இந்த வார்த்தைகள் இதை வாசிக்கிற உங்களுக்கும் பொருந்தும். நீங்களும் பாதிக்கிறிஸ்துவர்களாக மட்டுமல்ல, முழுக்கிறிஸ்துவர்களாக மாறவேண்டும் என்று பவுல் விரும்புகிறார். இதை எழுதுகிற நானும் விரும்புகிறேன். ஆண்டவரும் அதைத்தான் விரும்புகிறார். அந்த தேவதூதர்கள் இன்னும் சில நிமிடங்களில் அக்கினியால் அழியப்போகிற சோதோம் கொமாரா - பட்டணத்தின் வாசல்களில் நின்றுக்கொண்டு, லோத்துவைப் பார்த்து ஜீவன் தப்ப, இங்கிருந்து ஓடிப்போய்விடு,காலதாமதம் செய்யாதே, உடனே புறப்படு என்று கூறுகிறார்கள். ஆம், நாம் வசிக்கும் இந்த பூமியும் ஒரு நாளைக்கு ஆண்டவரது நியாயத் தீர்ப்புக்கு இரையாகப் போகிறது. நாம் வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருப்பது கடைசி நாள் மாத்திரமல்ல, கடைசி நாளின் கடைசி மணி நேரத்தில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். இன்றே இரட்சண்ய நாள், இப்பொழுதே அனுக்கிரக காலம் என்று வேதம் மனம்திரும்ப நம்மை அறைகூவி அழைக்கிறது. அதை நாம் உதாசீனம் செய்யக் கூடாது. நமது ஆன்மீக இரட்சிப்பு மிகவும் விலைறேப்பெற்றது. அதன் மதிப்பையும் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் பற்றி வேதம் இப்படியாக விளக்குகிறது. "ஒரு மனிதன் உலகம் முழுவதையும் (மகா அலெக்ஸாண்டரைப் போல்) வெற்றிகொண்டு சம்பாதித்தாலும், அவனது மரணத்திற்கு பின்பு, அவனது ஆத்துமா பரலோகத்திற்கு போவதற்கு பதிலாக நரகத்திற்கு போகுமானால், அதனால் என்ன பயன்? ஒரு பயனும் இல்லை". 3 வாரமோ, 3மணி நேரமோ தேவையில்லை, இரட்சிக்கப்பட 3 நிமிடம்தான் தேவை. மரணப்படுக்கையில் - இன்னும் சில மணிநேரத்தில் மரிக்கப்போகும் ஒரு மனிதனிடத்தில்Dr.J.J.கார்டன் என்ற ஊழியர் சென்றாராம். மரணத்தின் விளிம்பில் நிற்கிற மனிதனிடத்தில் அப்படிப்பட்ட நிலையில் எப்படி பேச்சை ஆரம்பிப்பது என்று சற்று தடுமாறினார். இருப்பினும் "ஐயா, நீங்க என்ன நிலைமையில் இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்பது உங்களுக்கு தெரியுமா? அதை சந்திப்பதற்கு ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிறீர்களா" என்று கேட்டார். அவரது முகத்தில் ஒரு பெரிய விரக்தியும், ஏமாற்றமும் காணப்பட்டது. அதற்கு அவர், "எனக்கு தெரியும் ஐயா! அதுதான் என்னுடைய கவலையும்கூட, நான் இன்னும் 2 அல்லது 3 வாரம் உயிரோடு இருந்தால், என் மரணத்தை சந்திப்பதற்கு என்னை ஆயத்தம் பண்ணுவது எளிதாக இருக்கும். ஆனால் இன்னும் சில மணிநேரத்தில் அதை எப்படி சந்திப்பது என்பதுதான் என் குழப்பம்" என்றான். உடனே அந்த ஊழியர் மரணத்தின் விளிம்பில் நின்றுக்கொண்டிருந்த அவரைப் பார்த்து, "ஐயா, உங்கள் ஆண்டவரை சந்திப்பதற்கு, உங்கள் ஆத்துமா இரட்சிக்கப்படுவதற்கு - 3 வாரம் தேவையில்லை, 3 மணி நேரமும் தேவையில்லை. உங்களுக்கு தேவை மூன்றே நிமிடங்கள்தான்" - என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு -பைபிளை திறந்து யோவான் 1:12, "விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களாய் அவரை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டவர்கள் எத்தனை பேர்களோ, அத்தனை பேர்களும் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளாகும் அதிகாரத்தை கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்". இயேசுவை உங்கள் உள்ளத்தில் விசுவாசித்து ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளுங்கள், அவ்வளவுதான் இப்போது தேவை. உடனே அந்த நிமிடமே அவரது முகத்தில் ஒரு தெய்வீக அமைதி நிலவியது. அந்த ஆன்மீக அமைதியுடன் சில நிமிடங்களில் அவர் கண்ணை மூடி இந்த உலகத்தைவிட்டு நிம்மதியாக கடந்து சென்று நித்திய ராஜ்ஜியத்திற்குள் நுழைந்தார். கோடைகாலம் முடிந்துவிட்டது, அறுவடை காலமும் கடந்துபோயிற்று, நாமோ இன்னும் இரட்சிக்கப்படவில்லை. (எரே 8:20). கர்த்தரைக்  கண்டடையத்தக்க சமயத்தில் அவரைத் தேடுங்கள். அவர் சமீபமாக இருக்கையில் அவரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுங்கள். (ஏசா 55:6). 2. குழந்தையின் உயிரைக் காப்பாற்ற காலதாமதம் செய்யாதே: "கழுதையை வேகமாக ஓட்டிச்செல், யார் சொன்னாலும் நிறுத்தாதே, வேகத்தை குறைக்காதே". "நீ இடுப்பை வரிந்துகட்டிக்கொண்டு போ, வழியில் யாருக்கும் வணக்கம் செய்யாதே, யாராவது வணக்கம் போட்டாலும், பதில் வணக்கம் போடாதே, விரைந்து போ". (2 இராஜ 4:24,29). இது எலிசாவின் காலத்தில் நடந்த ஒரு சம்பவம். எலிசா தங்குவதற்கு சகல வசதிகளையும் அந்தசூனேமியாள் செய்துகொடுத்தாள். அதற்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும் வகையில் எலிசா ஜெபம் பண்ணி, குழந்தையில்லாமல் இருந்த அந்த பெண்ணிற்கு ஒரு குழந்தை பிறந்தது. அதே குழந்தைத்தான் இப்பொழுது மரித்துவிட்டது, தன் குழந்தை இறந்துவிட்டதே என்று சொல்லி, அழுது, புலம்பி, ஊரைக்கூட்டி, ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் செய்யாமல், இப்பெண், ரொம்ப Coolஆக, ரொம்ப ரொம்ப சாதாரணமாக - இறந்துப்போன அக்குழந்தையை எலிசாவின் படுக்கையில் கிடத்திவிட்டு, அறையைப் பூட்டிவிட்டு - தன் கணவனிடத்தில்கூட குழந்தை இறந்த செய்தியை சொல்லாமல், தன் வேலைக்காரனை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, தன் வாகனத்தில் ஏறிக்கொண்டு - எலிசாவை பார்க்க வந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறாள். என்ன துணிச்சல்! என்ன விசுவாசம்,என்னதொரு ஆணித்தரமான, அசையாத நம்பிக்கை. இறந்துப்போன குழந்தையை எலிசாவின் அறையில் பூட்டிவிட்டு, எலிசாவை நேரில்போய் பார்ப்பதற்கு வந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறாள். வரும் வழியில் தனது உள்உணர்வுகளையும் அந்த அறையிலேயே போட்டு பூட்டிவிட்டதுபோல - போய் கொண்டிருக்கிறாள். எலிசாவைப் பார்த்து அவரிடம் விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணினால், நிச்சயமாக அவர் மூலம் இறந்துப்போன தன் மகனை திரும்ப உயிரோடு பெறலாம் என்ற இரு இமயத்தைப்போல உயர்ந்த ஒரு விசுவாசம். இதை எழுதும்போது, இதே சூழ்நிலையில் இருந்த இன்னொரு தாயின் வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்த உண்மைச் சம்பவம் என் நினைவிற்கு வருகிறது. ஒரு தாய் தன்மகனுக்காக ஜெபித்துவந்தார்கள். அவன் ஒரு வாலிபனாக வளர்ந்து Army ல் சேர்ந்து பணியாற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்தான். என்றைக்காவது ஒரு நாள் அவளது மகன் நிச்சயமாக இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டு,நல்ல கிறஸ்துவனாக மாறுவான் என்று ஆண்டவர் அவளுக்கு வாக்குறுதி கொடுத்திருந்தார். ஆனால் திடீரென அவளது தலையில் இடிவிழுந்தாற்போல் - "உன் மகன் இறந்து விட்டான் என்று Army Head Quartersயிடமிருந்து ஒரு தந்தி வந்தது. அந்த தாய்க்கு உலகமே சுக்குநூறாக உடைந்தது. வேகமாக ஓடி, தன் ஜெப அறைக்குள் முழங்காற்படியிட்டு அழுதாள். ஆண்டவரிடம் விசாரித்தாள். உம்முடைய வாக்கு பொய்யானதா? உண்மையானதா? பலமணி நேரம் போராடி ஜெபித்தபின்பு ஆண்டவர் தெள்ளத்தெளிவாக அவளோடு பேசினாராம், என்ன பேசினார்? உன் மகன் சாகவில்லை, உயிரோடு இருக்கிறான் என்று உடனே இப்பொழுது என்ன செய்தாள் தெரியுமா? அந்த ராணுவ தலைமையத்திற்கு "என் மகன் சாகவில்லை, அங்கு ஏதோ தவறு நடந்திருக்கிறது" - என்று பதில் கொடுத்தாளாம். என்ன தைரியம்! என்ன விசுவாசம்!. அடுத்தநாள் அங்கிருந்து ஒரு பதில் வந்ததாம். "இறந்துப்போனது உங்கள் மகன் இல்லை, அதே பெயருடைய இன்னொருவன் இறந்துவிட்டான் - தவறுக்கு மன்னிக்கவும்" என்று பதில் வந்ததாம். ஆம்! இப்படிப்பட்ட விசுவாசம் நமக்கு தேவை. விசுவாசத்தினால் ராஜ்யங்களை வென்றார்கள். நீதியை நடப்பித்தார்கள். கடவுளின் வாக்குத்தத்தங்களை பெற்றார்கள். சிலர் சிங்கங்களின் வாய்களை அடைத்தார்கள். இறந்துப்போன தமது பிள்ளைகளை சிலர் திரும்ப பெற்றார்கள். (எபி 11:33). சூனேமியாளின் கதைக்கு திரும்புவோம். சூனேமியாள் அவசரமாக, பதட்டத்துடன் தன்னை நோக்கி வருவதைக்கண்ட எலிசா - இவளது மகனுக்கு ஆபத்து என்று புரிந்துக்கொண்டார். உடனே தான் போவதற்கு பதிலாக - இந்த இடத்தில் எலிசா தீர்மானம் எடுப்பதில் சற்று தடுமாறி - தனது வேலைக்காரனையும், தனதுகோலையும் அனுப்புகிறான். அதில் எந்த பயனும் இல்லை - என்பதை சூனேமியாள் புரிந்துக்கொண்டு எலிசாவின் காலைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு - "நீர்தான் வரவேண்டும், நீர் வராவிட்டால் இந்த இடத்தைவிட்டு நகரமாட்டேன்" என்று உடும்புப்பிடியாக பிடிக்கிறாள். உடனே எலிசா தன்னிடம் காணப்பட்ட சோம்பலை சற்று ஒதுக்கி வைத்துவிட்டு - வேகமாகபுறப்படுகிறார். தன் அறைக்கு வந்தபோது - குழந்தை பேச்சு மூச்சு இல்லாமல் கிடப்பதை காண்கிறார். தாயையும், தன் வேலைக்காரனையும் வெளியே இருக்கச் சொல்லிவிட்டு - டாக்டரைப்போல் ஒரு மினி ஆப்ரேஷன் செய்வதுபோல் - மற்றும் முதலுதவி கொடுப்பதுபோல் - பிள்ளையின் உடம்பில் சூடு உண்டாக இவர் பலமுறை பிள்ளையின் மேல்படுத்து வாயில் ஊதி சிகிச்சை செய்கிறார். இயேசு எச்சிலை உமிழ்ந்து - தரையில் துப்பி - அதை எடுத்து குருடன் கண்ணில் பூசுவதுபோல் எலிசாவும் செய்வதை நாம் காணமுடிகிறது. பல அற்புதங்களை கண்மூடி திறப்பதற்குள் செய்துமுடித்தஎலிசா இந்த விஷயத்தில்மட்டும் பல கடினமான செயல்களை செய்வதை நாம் கண்கூடாக காணமுடிகிறது. ஆம்! ஆண்டவருடைய அற்புதம் நமது வாழ்க்கையில் நடைபெறும்போது அவை அனைத்தும் ஒரே மாதிரி இராது - ஒவ்வொன்றும் வித்தியாசமான முறையில் இருக்கும். ஒரே மாதிரி நடைபெறவேண்டும் என்று நாம் எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பது நமது தவறு.  சில அற்புதம் கண்மூடி திறப்பதற்குள் நடந்துவிடும். சில அற்புதம் நடக்க நாம் போராடி ஜெபிக்கவேண்டும். எப்படியோ பலமணி நேரம் போராடி ஆண்டவரிடத்தில் விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணி - அந்த குழந்தையை எலிசா உயிரோடு எழுப்பிவிட்டார். தாயை அறைக்குள் அழைத்து உன் மகனை தூக்கிக்கொள் என்று சொன்னபோது அந்த தாயின் முகத்தில் நிலவிய சந்தோஷத்தை யாராலும் விவரிக்க முடியாது. அவ்வளவு மகிழ்ச்சி அந்த தாயின் முகத்தில் பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடியது. ஓடிப்போய் குழந்தையை தூக்குவதற்கு முன்பு எலிசாவின் காலில் விழுந்து அவருக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தினாள். இப்படிப்பட்ட அற்புதம் நமது வாழ்க்கையில் நடக்கவேண்டுமானால், நாம் செய்யவேண்டிய சில காரியங்களை காலதாமதம் இல்லாமல் செய்யவேண்டும். துரிதமாய் செயல்பட்ட  காரணத்தினால்தான் அந்த சூனேமியாள் எலிசாவைக்கண்டு அவரிடம் தனது தேவையை சொல்லி நீர் வராமல் இந்த இடத்தை விட்டுபோகமாட்டேன் என்று அடம்பிடித்ததின் நிமித்தம் எலிசா உடனே புறப்பட்டு வந்து அந்த குழந்தையின் உயிரை காப்பாற்ற முடிந்தது. காலதாமதம் உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து. 1984ம் ஆண்டு நமது பாரதப் பிரதமர் இந்திரா காந்தி துப்பாக்கியால் சுடப்பட்டபோது அவர்களை மருத்துவமனையில் கொண்டுபோய் சேர்ப்பதில் 2, 3 மணி நேரம் காலதாமதமானது. இந்த காலதாமத்தை ஒரு பத்திரிக்கை Lethal Lethargy என்று எழுதினார். அதற்கு மரணத்தை வரவழைத்த காலவிரயம் என்று அர்த்தம் ஆகும். 2008ல் நவம்பரில் 26ம் தேதி பம்பாயில் நடந்த தீவிரவாதிகளின் திடீர் தாக்குதலை சந்திக்கவந்த NSG என்ற அதிரடிபடை டெல்லியிலிருந்து பம்பாயிக்கு ஏறக்குறைய 12 மணி நேரம் காலதாமதமாக வந்து சேர்ந்தது. அந்த தாமதமான இடைவெளியில் பல உயிர்கள் பறிப்போனது. 1இராஜ 7ம் அதிகாரத்தில் நான்கு தொழுநோயாளிகளும், அவர்களுக்குள் இவ்வாறு பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள். இன்று நமது நாட்டிற்கு நல்லசெய்தி கிடைத்துள்ளது. நாளைக் காலைக்குள்இச்செய்தியை சொல்லாமல் இருப்போமானால் நம்மேல் குற்றம் சுமத்தப்படும். வாருங்கள் (இன்றே, இப்பொழுதே) நாம் போய் இந்த நல்லசெய்தியை அறிவிப்போம் என்றார்கள். (2இராஜா 7:9) என்ன அற்புதமான அர்ப்பணம்! பொறுப்புணர்வு!!. இதை வாசிக்கிற நீங்களும், நானும், மற்றவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்ய விரும்பினால், அதை மனதில் நினைத்துக்கொண்டு, கனவு கண்டுகொண்டு உட்காராதீர்கள். உடனே உதவிசெய்ய புறப்பட்டு செல்லுங்கள். காலதாமதமாக செயல்படுவது நல்லதல்ல . ஏற்ற சமயத்தில் சொல்லப்பட்ட வார்த்தை வெள்ளித்தகட்டில் வைக்கப்பட்ட பொன் பழத்திற்கு சமானம். அதுபோலவே, நாம் மற்றவர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கும் உதவியும்கூட, ஏற்ற சமயத்தில் செய்யப்படவேண்டும். காலதாமதமாக செய்யப்படும் உதவி தேவையற்றதாக போய்விடும் என்பதை மறக்கவேண்டாம். காலதாமதம் செய்வது, பல சமயங்களில் உயிர்சேதத்தில் முடியும். செய்யவேண்டியதை நாம் சீக்கிரமாக செய்ய கற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். எல்லா காரியங்களையும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் நம்மால் செய்யமுடியாது. ஆனால் எதையாவது ஒன்றை உடனே செய்யுங்கள். சும்மா நேரத்தை வீண்விரையம் செய்யாதீர்கள். அடுத்து, நாம் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று அறிந்துகொள்வதுதான் ஞானம். அறிந்துக் கொண்டதைஎவ்வாறு செய்வது என்பது திறமை. ஆனால் அறிந்துக்கொண்டதையும், எப்படி செய்யவேண்டும் என்பதையும் உடனே செய்வதுதான் சமயோசிதம். உருளும் கல்லில், தூசியோ, மண்ணோ எதுவுமே ஒட்டாது. அதுபோலவே துணிந்து செயல்படுபவனும் எதற்கும் அஞ்ச அவசியமில்லை, துணிந்தவனுக்கு துக்கமில்லை. சரியான ஒன்றை செய்வதற்கு தவறான நேரம் எதுவுமே கிடையாது. உலகத்தை வென்ற மகா அலெக்ஸாண்டரிடம் உங்களது வெற்றியின் ரகசியம் என்ன என்று கேட்டபோது நான் "எதையுமே தள்ளிப்போடமாட்டேன். உடனே செய்வதுதான் எனது வெற்றியின் இரகசியம்" என்று பதில் கொடுத்தாராம். 3. இயேசுவின் நற்செய்தியை வீதிகளிலும், சந்து பொந்துகளிலும் விரைந்து சென்று அறிவியுங்கள்: வீட்டு எஜமான் தனது வேலையாட்களைப் பார்த்து "நீங்கள் நகரின் வீதிகளுக்கும், சந்துகளுக்கும் விரைந்துசென்று ஏழை, எளியார், கால் ஊனமுற்றோர், பார்வையற்றோர் - எல்லோரையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வாருங்கள்" (லூக் 14:21) என்றார். ராஜாவின் வேலையை நாம் துரிதமாக செய்யவேண்டும் என்ற வார்த்தைக்கு ஆவிக்குரிய அர்த்தமாக நாம் அடுத்து சிந்திக்கப்போவது சுவிசேஷம் என்னும் நற்செய்தியை எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் எல்லா நாட்டினருக்கும் அறிவிக்கும் பணி ஆகும். இதை நாம் தீவிரப்படுத்தவேண்டும். நாம் வாழும் இந்த உலகத்தில் தற்சமயம் ஏறக்குறைய 700 கோடி மக்கள் 225 தேசங்களில்வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். இதில் 300 கோடி மக்கள் கிறிஸ்துவர்கள் - அதுவும் பெயர் கிறிஸ்துவர்கள். மீதமுள்ள 400 கோடி மக்களுக்கு ஏதாவது ஒருவழியில் நற்செய்தியை மக்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவைப்பதும் நமது பொறுப்பல்ல.  அது ஆண்டவரது செயல், ஆனால் அவர்களுக்கு சுவிசேஷம்அறிவிப்பது நமது தலையாய கடமையாகும். அது ஆண்டவர் நம்மிடம் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பொறுப்பாகும். ரேடியோ மூலம், டெலிவிஷன் மூலம், பத்திரிக்கை, துண்டுப்பிரதிகள் வாயிலாக எப்படியாவது நற்செய்தியை அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கவேண்டும். மலைகளில் நடந்து செல்லும் நற்செய்தியாளரின் பாதங்கள் எவ்வளவு அழகாய் இருக்கிறது - என்று சுவிசேஷத்தை அறிவிக்கும் மிஷனரிகளின் பாதங்களைப்பற்றி வேதம் அழகாய் விவரிக்கிறது. இந்த உலகத்தில் ஒரு வினாடிக்கு 3 பேர்கள் மரித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த 3 பேர்களும் கிறிஸ்துவற்ற கல்லறைக்குள் போய்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த செய்தியை நீங்கள் வாசிக்க தொடங்கிய நேரம்முதல் இந்த விநாடிவரை சுமார் 15 நிமிடங்கள் கடந்துவிட்டன. இந்த 15 நிமிடங்களில் ஏறக்குறைய நிமிடத்திற்கு 180 பேர்கள் வீதத்தில் 180x15=2700 பேர்கள் மரித்துவிட்டார்கள். இதை வாசிக்கிற நீங்கள் கற்பனை செய்து பாருங்கள். சுவிசேஷத்தை நான் மற்றவர்களுக்கு பிரசங்கிக்கவிட்டால் எனக்கு ஐயோ! என்று பவுல் அலறுகிறார். யான் பெற்ற இன்பம் இவ்வையகம் முழுவதும் பரவட்டும் என்று நாம் பாடவேண்டும். சுவிசேஷம் நமது இந்தியாவிற்கு முதல் நூற்றாண்டிலேயே - தோமா மூலமாக வந்துவிட்டது. இயேசு உயிர்த்தெழுந்து தனது சீடர்களுக்கு முதலில் காட்சியளித்தபோது தோமா அங்கு இல்லை. "நான் அவரைப் பார்த்து அவரது விலாவில் என் கையைப்போட்டு, அவரது கால், கையில் உள்ள காயங்களை தொட்டுப்பார்த்து அவைகளை Verify பண்ணியபிறகுதான் நான் நம்புவேன்" என்று தோமா கூறினார். அவரது சந்தேகத்தை தீர்க்கவேண்டித்தான் இரண்டாவது முறையாக உயிர்த்தெழுந்த இயேசு காட்சியளித்தார். அந்த சமயத்தில் தோமாவை அழைத்து, என் விலாவில் உன் கையைப்போடு என்று சொல்லியபோது, தோமாவின் உள்ளம் சுக்கு நூறாக உடைந்தது. சந்தேகத்தின் உருவகமாக மாறிய தோமாதனது தவறை உணர்ந்து, இதை சரிக்கட்ட (Compansate-பண்ண) ஆண்டவரே நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டிருப்பார். இதை எதிர்ப்பார்த்திருந்த "ஆண்டவர் தோமாவைப்பார்த்து நீ இந்தியாவிற்கு மிஷனரியாகப்போ" என்று கட்டளையிட்டார். அதன் விளைவாகத்தான் தோமா இந்தியாவிற்கு மிஷனரியாக வந்தார். தோமாவுக்குள் ஏற்பட்ட சந்தேக குணம் இந்தியாவிற்கு சாதகமாக அமைந்துவிட்டது. இரண்டாவது முறையாக உயிர்த்தெழுந்த இயேசு தோமாவிற்கு காட்சியளித்தது இந்தியாவிற்காகமட்டுமே என்பது இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இயேசு இந்தியாவை நேசிக்கிறார். இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழும் ஒவ்வொரு கிறிஸ்தவனும் ஒரு மிஷனரி என்று உணரவேண்டும். எத்தனையோ வாலிபர்கள் தங்களது வாழ்க்கையை தங்களது வாலிபப் பிராயத்தை மிஷனரி பணிக்காக ஆண்டவரது பணிக்காகவும் அர்ப்பணித்திருக்கிறார்கள். இங்கிலாந்து தேசத்தை சேர்ந்த C.T.ஸ்டட் என்ற வாலிபன் நல்ல ஒரு கிரிக்கெட் விளையாட்டு வீரர். இவர் D.L.மூடியின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு மிஷனரிப் பணிக்காக தனது வாழ்க்கையை அர்ப்பணம் செய்தார். தனது அப்பா சொத்தில் கிடைத்த 2 கோடி ரூபாயையும் மிஷனரிப் பணிக்காக கொடுத்தார். வில்லியம் கேரி 1791ம் ஆண்டு கல்கத்தாவிற்கு மிஷனரியாக வந்து 32 மொழிகளில் வேதாகமத்தை மொழிபெயர்க்க மூலக்காரணமாக இருந்தார். அது போல ராய்மென்ட் லூல் என்ற மிஷனரி இஸ்லாமிய மக்கள் மத்தியில் பல ஆண்டுகள் மிஷனரியாக பணியாற்றி ஆப்பிரிக்காவில் உள்ள பயூகியா என்ற இடத்தில் 1814ம் ஆண்டு கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லப்பட்டு இரத்தசாட்சியாக மரித்தார். மேகம் போன்ற இத்தனை திரளான சாட்சிகள் நம்மை சூழ்ந்திருக்க நம்மை நெருங்கி நிற்கிற பாரத்தையும், பாவத்தையும் தள்ளிவிட்டு, மனஉறுதியோடு நமக்கென்று ஆண்டவர் குறித்துள்ள ஓட்டத்தில் ஓடக்கடவோம். (எபி 12:1). "யாரை நான் அனுப்புவேன்? நமது பணிக்காக யார் போவார்? என்று கேட்கும் ஆண்டவரின் சத்தத்தைக்கேட்டேன். அப்பொழுது ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, நான் இருக்கிறேன் என்னை அனுப்பும் என்றேன்" (ஏசா 6:8). 4. ஜெபம் பண்ண விரைந்து செல்லுங்கள்: ஒரு பட்டணத்தின் குடிமக்கள் அருகிலுள்ள மற்றொரு பட்டணத்தின் குடிமக்களை நோக்கி, நாம் கர்த்தருடைய சமூகத்தில் விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணவும், கர்த்தரைத் தேடவும், விரைந்துப்போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொன்னார்கள். சகரி 8:21. ராஜாவின் வேலையில் நாம் துரிதமாக செய்யவேண்டிய மிகமிக முக்கியமான அவசரமான வேலைகர்த்தரை நோக்கி ஜெபம் பண்ணுவதும், அவரைத் தேடுவதும்தான் என்பதை குறிப்பிட்டு சகரியாஎன்ற தீர்க்கதரிசி நாம் ஜெபம் பண்ணவேண்டும் என்ற ஒரு முக்கியமான செய்தியை நம்மோடு பகிர்ந்துக்கொள்கிறார். இயேசுகிறிஸ்து இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழ்ந்த 33½ ஆண்டுகளில், அவர் பல அற்புதங்களை செய்தார். பலருக்கு சுகம் கொடுத்தார், பிசாசுகளை விரட்டினார். பல பிரசங்கங்களையும் போதனைகளையும் பிரசங்கித்தார். சாப்பிடுவதற்குக்கூட நேரமில்லாமல் ஓடி ஓடி உழைத்தார். ஆனால் இப்படிப்பட்ட Busy Shedule மத்தியிலும் அவர் ஜெபிக்க மாத்திரம் தவறியது கிடையாது. அவர் தேவகுமாரன். அவர் தேவன், இருப்பினும் அவருக்கு அவர் மனுஷனாக பிறந்து வாழ்ந்ததால் ஜெபம் தேவைப்பட்டது. அந்த ஜெபத்தை அவர் மறக்கவே இல்லை. அதனால்தான் இயேசுவின் சீஷர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் எங்களுக்கு பிரசங்கம் பண்ண கற்றுத்தாரும். அற்புதம் செய்ய, பிசாசை விரட்ட, சுகம் கொடுக்க, கற்றுத்தாரும் என்று கேட்காமல் ஜெபிக்க கற்றுத்தாரும் என்று கேட்டார்கள். ஊழியத்தின் வெற்றியின் ரகசியம் இயேசுவின் ஜெப வாழ்க்கைதான் என்பதை சீஷர்கள் நன்கு புரிந்துகொண்டார்கள். தென் கொரியாவின் எழுப்புதலுக்கு காரணம் - ஜெபம்.  நாம் ஜெபிப்பதற்கு விரைந்து செல்லவேண்டும். ஜெபக்கூட்டத்திற்கு மக்கள் விரைந்து கூட்டம் கூட்டமாக செல்வதை தென் கொரியா தேசத்தில் நான் பார்த்திருக்கிறேன். அங்கு காலை 5 மணியிலிருந்து 6 மணிவரை 5000 பேர்கள் கூடிவந்து ஆலயத்தில் ஜெபிப்பதை நான் கண்கூடாக பார்த்திருக்கிறேன். சிறுவர், சிறுமியர், ஆண்கள், பெண்கள், பெரியோர் எல்லோரும் கூடிவந்து ஆலயத்தில் - காலை 5 முதல் 6 மணிவரை அவர்கள் கூடிஜெபிப்பது ஒரு கண்கொள்ளா காட்சியாக ஒரு விசேஷித்த அனுபவமாக எனக்கு இருந்தது. உங்கள் போதகர்களுக்காக ஜெபியுஙகள். உங்கள் குடும்பத்தாருக்காக ஜெபியுங்கள். சபையாருக்காக,  உங்கள்ஊராருக்காக, நாட்டிற்காக ஜெபியுங்கள். உங்கள் நண்பர்களுக்காக ஜெபியுங்கள். ஜெபகுறிப்புகளை எழுதிவைத்து தொடர்ந்து ஜெபியுங்கள். ஒரு வீடு ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படவேண்டுமானால் அந்த வீட்டில் ஜெபம் ஏறெடுக்கப்படவேண்டும். அந்த ஜெபம் அந்த வீட்டையும் அதில் வாழும் - மக்களையும் பாதுகாக்கும் பாதுகாப்பு கவசமாக மாறும். ஜெபம் இல்லாத வீடு - கூரையில்லாத வீடு என்ற உண்மையினை மறக்கவேண்டாம். இரவு 2மணிக்கு எழுந்து கணவருக்காக ஜெபித்த மனைவி: 1912ம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதம் - ஒரு ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை இரவுநேரம் ஒரு வயதான அம்மா களைத்துப்போயிந்தார்கள். ஆயினும் திடீரென அந்த அம்மாவின் உள்ளத்தில் ஜெபிக்கவேண்டும் என்றதொரு உள்ளூர பாரம் ஏற்பட்டது. அவரது கணவருக்காக ஜெபிக்கும்படியாக ஒரு இருதய பாரம் அந்த அம்மாவிற்கு உண்டானது. பல மணிநேரம் பாரத்தோடு ஜெபித்தார்கள். காலை 5 மணி வரை ஜெபித்துவிட்டு தூங்கிவிட்டார்கள். இந்த சமயத்தில் அவரது கணவன் டைட்டானிக் கப்பலில் பிரயாணம் செய்த அவர் - அந்த கப்பல் உடைந்து அட்லாண்டிக் மகா சமுத்திரத்தில் மூழ்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தது. அந்த கப்பல் கடலில் மூழ்கியபோது அவர் ஒரு சுழலில் மாட்டிக்கொண்டார். அதே சுழல் மீண்டும் சுழன்று அவரை தண்ணீரின் மேல்மட்டத்திற்கு கொண்டுவந்தபோது மிதந்துக்கொண்டிருந்த ஒரு படகை அவர் பிடித்துக்கொண்டார். அந்த படகில் ஏறி உயிர்தப்பினார். அப்பொழுது நேரம் அதிகாலை 5 மணி. அதே நேரத்தில்தான் அவரது மனைவியும் வீட்டில் தன் ஜெபத்தை முடித்தார்கள் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. நீங்களும் ஜெபியுங்கள், இடைவிடாமல் ஜெபியுங்கள். பிரசங்கம் செய்து அழிந்து போனவர்கள்அநேகர் உண்டு. ஆனால் ஜெபித்து அழிந்துப் போனவர்கள் யாருமே கிடையாது. இந்த உலகின் முன்னோடி விஞ்ஞானியான சர் ஐசக் நியூட்டன் அவர்கள் ஒரு ஜெபிக்கும் கிறிஸ்தவர். "என்னுடைய ஆராய்ச்சி கூடத்தில் டெலஸ்கோப் மூலமாக இந்த அண்ட சராசரம் முழுவதையும் பல நாட்கள் நான் அலசி ஆராய்ந்து பார்த்தாலும் ஆண்டவரை காணமுடியாது. ஆனால் நான் அரை மணிநேரம் முழங்காலில் நின்று நான் ஜெபிக்கும்போது எனது டெலஸ்கோப்பில் பார்க்க முடியாத என் ஆண்டவரை என் ஜெபத்தில் அருகில் இருப்பதை நான் பார்க்க முடிகிறது" என்று கூறுகிறார். எனக்கு எவ்வளவு பளுவான வேலைகள் இருப்பினும், ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் 2, 3 மணிநேரம் ஜெபிக்கவிட்டால் எனக்கு எந்த வேலையும் ஓடாது என்கிறார் மார்ட்டின் லூத்தர். இந்த உலகத்தில் நடக்கும் எந்த ஊழியத்தையும், எந்த இயக்கத்தையும் நீங்கள் ஆராய்ந்து பார்த்தால் அந்த ஊழியத்தின் வெற்றிக்குப் பின்னால் யாராவது ஒருவர் முழங்கால் படியிட்டு ஜெபிப்பதை நீங்கள் பார்க்காமல் இருக்கமுடியாது என்று கூறுகிறார் டி.எல்.மூடி அவர்கள். இயேசு அதிகாலையில் இருட்டோடே எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, வனாந்திரமான ஒரு இடத்திற்கு போய் அங்கே ஜெபம் பண்ணினார் (மாற் 1:35). நீங்கள் ஜெபம் பண்ணும்போது எவைகளை கேட்கிறீர்களா, அவைகளை பெற்றுக் கொள்வோம்என்று நம்புங்கள். அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொள்வீர்கள் (மாற் 11:24) ஜெபத்தின் ரகசியம் - ரகசியமாக ஜெபிப்பதில் இருக்கிறது. 5. ஆண்டவரது பணிக்காக பணம் சேகரிக்க விரைந்து செல்லுங்கள்: பின்னர் ஆண்டவரது ஆலயத்தை புதுப்பிக்க யோவாஸ் ராஜா விரும்பினார். எனவே அவர் ஆசாரியர்களையும், லேவியர்களையும் ஒன்றுகூட்டி அவர்களிடம் நீங்கள் தேசத்திலுள்ள எல்லா நகரங்களுக்கும் சென்று ஆண்டவரது ஆலயத்தை ஆண்டுதோறும் புதுப்பிக்க பணம் சேகரியுங்கள். இதனை விரைவாக செய்யுங்கள் என்றார் (2 நாளா 24:5). ஆண்டவராகிய நமது ராஜாவின் வேலையை நாம் துரிதமாக செய்துமுடிக்க வேண்டுமானால் அதற்கு பணம் ரொம்ப அவசியம் என்பதை நாம் யாவரும் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். எந்த ஒரு திட்டமும் சரிவர நிறைவேற்றப்படவேண்டுமானால் நிதி தேவைப்படுகிறது. மேலே கொடுக்கப்பட்ட சம்பவத்தில் யோவாஸ் என்ற 7 வயது சிறுவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாக பதவியேற்றார். இங்கிலாந்து தேசத்திலும் இதே போன்ற சம்பவம் நடந்தது. விக்டோரியா 11 வயது குழந்தையாக இருந்தபோது அவளது அப்பாவும் அன்றைய அரசனுமாக இருந்த ராஜா திடீரென இறந்துவிட்டார். அவர் இறந்தவுடன் தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த 11 வயது விக்டோரியாவை எழுப்பி - நீதான் இங்கிலாந்து நாட்டின் ராணி என்று சொன்னபோது அந்த 11 வயது குழந்தை செய்த முதல்காரியம் - சட்டென முழங்கால் படியிட்டு ஜெபித்தாராம். இவ்வளவு பெரிய தேசத்தை ஆட்சி செய்யக்கூடிய ஞானத்தை எனக்குத்தாரும் என்று சாலமோன் ராஜா கேட்டமாதிரி - கேட்டு ஜெபித்தது - உலக சரித்திரத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக மாறிவிட்டது. நான் அன்புடன் நேசித்த, மறைந்த தேவ ஊழியர் Prof.பன்னீர் செல்வம் எழுதிய கட்டுரை. Downpour of black money during polls

India's 2014 general election is the biggest democratic exercise in history.More than 814 million people in India casted their electronic ballots over nine phases of voting started on Monday 7 April.

The nine phases of Lok Sabha elections spread over 36 days witnessed a downpour of black money from almost every nook and corner of the country. 

Over Rs 300 crore unaccounted money, more than two crore litre liquor and nearly 2 lakh kilogram drugs were seized by the authorities from different parts of the country, poll panel officials said on Monday.

The authorities also took cognizance of more than 3000 cases of paid news, of them 694 were found to be valid till the ninth and final phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Monday while process were on to establish allegations against the accused in the rest of the cases, the Election Commission said.

“A total of Rs 313 crore unaccounted money, 2.25 crore litre of liquor and 1,85,000 kilogram of drugs were seized across the country during elections,” one of the Director Generals of the Election Commission P K Dash said here. 

Interestingly, Rs 153 crore unaccounted money and 1.44 crore litres of liquor, almost half of the total cash and liquor confiscated, were seized in Andhra Pradesh alone. The state also recorded 2,168 cases of paid news and 116 cases were found to be valid. The process to verify the allegations against the others are on.

When it comes to the seizure of narcotic drugs, Punjab topped the list with authorities confiscating a total of 1,39,000 kilogram of the drugs, almost half of the total contraband confiscated, from the state during polls.

A total Rs 28.08 crore unaccounted money was seized in Karnataka, Rs 25.07 crore Maharashtra, Rs 25.05 crore Tamil Nadu and Rs 24.07 crore from Uttar Pradesh, Das said.

Authorities seized 11.50 lakh litre of liquor in Punjab, 8.46 lakh litre West Bengal and 7.25 lakh litre Uttar Pradesh. “Interestingly, 11.32 lakh litre of liquor were seized in Gujarat, which is a prohibition state,” Das added.

In Uttar Pradesh, 24,000 kg of narcotic drugs was seized and Rajasthan 10,000 kg.
Punjab witnessed a total of 162 cases of paid news of which 110 were found to be true. At least 240 cases of paid news was reported in Rajasthan and 172 were found to be valid. In  Karnataka, 32 cases of paid news were reported out of which 23 were found to be true. 

“The process to verify the allegations against the candidates in the rest of the cases are on,” another director general of EC Akshay Rout told reporters.

As many as 75,306 FIRs were lodged for violation of expenditure rules — 13,900 cases in West Bengal, 13641 in Tamil Nadu, 13, 565 in Uttar Pradesh and 11,147 in Andhra Pradesh.

The election commission had deployed 719 expenditure observers all over the country, 11,123 flying squads and 10, 435 static surveillance teams to check the use of black money.

Holy Spirit: A luxury or a necessity?

Because the Holy Spirit is mentioned third in the Godhead, He is treated as a "third" person by Christians. We do not realize that He is God — equal with the Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus. He is not a mere force or power, but a Person. God the Father is in Heaven. God the Son is seated at the Father’s right hand in Heaven. It is God the Holy Spirit who in all His personality is here on earth. This is the era of the Holy Spirit. Ignorance of this truth will be the greatest loss in Christian life. The Holy Spirit is the divine Energiser, Equipper and Enabler so we may accomplish God’s purposes in our lives.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit is not a luxury but a necessity. It is the norm of Christian life. Let’s see why we need the Holy Spirit in our day to day life.

1. To overcome sin!

"You are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you... For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live!" (Rom 8:9,13) "So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature" (Gal 5:16).

We have to live with our sinful nature till we die but we must live above it and not under! Decisions and determinations not to yield to temptation and sin are good but don’t guarantee victory. The Holy Spirit is the Answer. He keeps us holy. That’s His primary ministry. Seek God for a fresh filling of His Spirit each morning and stay full of Him throughout the day. When we are full, there is no vacant room for the devil to enter. It was when the evil spirit found the house unoccupied, it brought seven other spirits more wicked than itself! (Mt 12:44,45). Sin has abounded everywhere and the very air we breathe is contaminated. Days are becoming more and more difficult to live pure. "No-to-sin" is not popular. Friends, take a stand. Don’t stand with the devil’s majority but suffer with God’s minority. Your every effort to resist temptations will be rewarded. God has made full provision for a victorious life in giving us His Spirit. The Spirit applauds every effort we take to overcome sin (Rev 2:7,11,17,etc.)

2. To live a successful family life!

"Be filled with the Spirit" (Eph 5:18). Following this exhortation are the instructions to wives, husbands, children and parents (5:22 to 6:4). Yes, when the family members are filled with the Holy Spirit, there is a happy home. It’s heaven on earth! There is submission, love, obedience, respect and honour. John the Baptist came "in the spirit and power" of Elijah to "turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers" (Mal 4:5,6; Lk 1:17). Yes the Holy Spirit sets families in order.

Zechariah and Elizabeth were a beautiful couple, known for their devotion to the Lord, blameless behaviour before men and an enviable oneness among themselves (Lk 1:5,6,60,62,63), though they were childless (v 7). The secret was that they had been filled with the Holy Spirit (vv 41,67). What a consistent married life for so many years! (v 18).

The family of Evangelist Philip was an attractive one. The missionary team of Paul could stay with them "many days!" The secret was that the family members were filled with the Holy Spirit. Philip was Spirit-filled and also his four daughters (Acts 6:3,5; 21:8,9). It was a tabernacle of the righteous resounding with shouts of joy and victory, and not quarrels and jazz music! (Psa 118:15).

The Holy Spirit can make the husband a lamb and the wife a dove. What a combination! Discussions but no divisions, differences but no disunity! Home sweet home! The devil comes these days fullsteam against this basic unit called family. He began his attack with that first family in the Edenic bliss and now he is accelerating as we approach the end of endtime. The Holy Spirit is the insurance against this demonic invasion.

3. To be super at workspot!

The young man Joseph was in a strange land which was hostile to his holy convictions. The Egyptian culture was to glance this way and that and sin if no one saw! (Ex 2:11,12). They looked around but Joseph looked above! His question was, "How can I sin against God?" (Gen 39:9). He was shot with arrows of hatred and envy. But his bow remained steady! Because, the Spirit of God was in him (Gen 49:23-25; 41:38). He walked from prison to palace with state honours!

Daniel was another young man with the excellent Spirit of God on him (Dan 5:11;6:3). He was on the King’s service in Babylon. He also could not escape envy. Yes, no man is fully accepted until he is totally rejected. Daniel dared to stand and stand alone, not fearing the king of the country or the king of forest! Every time he knelt down with praise, alone or alongwith his friends, the Spirit of the Lord came on him to grant him fresh courage and firm conviction. So he prospered under two pagan kings without compromise (Dan 6:28).

Bezaleel was filled with the Spirit of God and so he became an extraordinarily skilled craftsman. He engaged in all kinds of craftsmanship to make artistic designs in gold, silver and wood (Ex 31:2-5). A Spirit-filled doctor will treat better; a Spirit-filled engineer will build better; a Spirit-filled professor will teach better; a Spirit-filled artist will paint better; a Spirit-filled student will study better!

Mental or physical exhaustion leads to tension in office, factory or school. Get a fresh filling of the Spirit each morning! Use the gifts of tongues regularly. "This is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest and this is the refreshing!" (Isa 28:11,12; 1 Cor 14:21). Both during my student days and while practicing engineering, I would often resort to speaking in tongues, and invariably find a release.

4. To overcome relationship problems!

Interpersonal relationship problems stem from a lack of love, pleasant temperament, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. But the Holy Spirit supplies all these abundantly because they are His "fruit" — His very nature and manifestation! (Gal 5:22,23). Submitting to one another is an immediate outcome of being filled with the Spirit (Eph 5:18,21). Paul wrote to the Ephesian Christians, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Eph 4:2,3). The Spirit produces unity and we are to preserve and protect it!

The Pentecostal outpouring achieved this seemingly impossible thing: "All the believers were one in heart and mind!" (Acts 4:32). Most of the problems in relationship are due to the tongue which "no man" can tame (Js 3:8). But God can! Is this the reason why the Holy Spirit captured the tongues of the hundred and twenty at the first instance? The tongues of holy fire from Above sanctified the tongues of those Galileans! (Acts 2:3,4; Js 3:6).

The Holy Spirit melts rocklike hearts and fills the eyes with tears of reconciliation and restitution. He undercuts the ropes of suspicion and misunderstanding. He convicts and comforts. He liberates and lubricates. He is the precious cream and the refreshing dew to make us "live together in unity!" Oh how good and how pleasant! (Psa 133:1,2).

5. To praise and pray jubilantly!

The Holy Spirit is called "Paraclete" in Greek, meaning a Helper (Jn 14:26). One of His primary helps is in the area of prayer, because we are all "weak" in it. We know not what to pray and how. The Holy Spirit not only helps us in our prayer but also intercedes for us "with groans that words cannot express" (Rom 8:26). One of the first signs of those baptized with the Spirit is the desire and depth in prayer. The early disciples following Pentecost received a renewed interest in prayer and cherished the sweet hour of prayer! (Acts 2:42; 3:1).

"Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs" burst forth from a Spirit-filled heart. The Holy Spirit excites us to sing and to make music in our hearts to the Lord, "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Eph 5:18-20). All church leaders agree that one of the greatest contributions of the charismatic movement to the church is the restoration of "worship" which A. W. Tozer calls "the missing jewel of evangelical Christianity!" Several Scripture passages are set to music and the traditional and conservative forms of worship give way to spontaneous and joyful worship. Hallelujah is no more a denominational shout!

Speaking in tongues has a tremendous devotional value in praise and private prayer. It bypasses the mind and boosts our spirits (1 Cor 14:4, 14-17). I spend some time daily in private prayer speaking in tongues since 1962 when I was baptized with the Spirit. It’s refreshing! Of the nine gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, the one primarily directed to God is "speaking in tongues." Hence its value in communing with God.

6. To understand the Bible!

Jesus said, "The Holy Spirit will teach you all things" (Jn 14:25). Paul wrote, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him; but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit... This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words" (1 Cor 2:9-13). This is the function of the two gifts which top the list in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, "Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge."

The Holy Spirit is the best Teacher of the Scriptures because He is its Author (2 Pet 1:21; 2 Tim 3:16). This does not mean we need no human teacher or study aid. The Holy Spirit turns all infomation to inspiration. He takes the truth from the head to the heart. Study the Bible under the umbrella of the Spirit. Acknowledge His presence constantly while studying or meditating the Scripture. Everytime you open the Bible, remember to pray, "God, open my eyes!"

I once met some ordained ministers of a mainline Church who asked me whether I still believed in a literal Heaven and Hell. I answered yes and asked them whether they believed that the Bible was the Word of God. Several of them could not give a yes answer. Our pulpits are occupied more and more by this kind of seminarians. Empty head knowledge with no life of the Spirit! The very basic faith is lost because there is graduation and ordination but no unction! Beware!

7. To evangelize the world!

The last recorded saying of Christ before Ascension was the promise of the Spirit’s power for worldwide evangelisation (Acts 1:8). About the early Christians we read, "They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God boldly" (Acts 4:31). Paul testified, "My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power" (1 Cor 2:4). Result? Three thousand converts! Five thousand converts! Great crowds! A large number of priests! Many prominent women and men! It was a church explosion! All because they had received the dynamic power of the Spirit!

Let me quote one of my favorite authors, Dr. James A. Stewart: "If there is one thing which has broken my heart, one thing which has caused me to weep, it has been the shallowness of modern evangelism... Preachers and singers alike are so glamourised that Christ is not the centre of attraction... The old-fashioned method of evangelism was to make people weep, but the modern Hollywood way is to make people laugh. The Holy Spirit cannot work in a frivolous atmosphere... The solution to our problem is to honour the Holy Spirit and to put away all the nonsense of modern evangelism!"

It is the Holy Spirit who burdens us to weep and pray for the perishing souls (Rom 9:1,2; 10:1). It is the Holy Spirit who calls and sends forth missionaries to proclaim the Evangel (Acts 13:2,4). It is the Holy Spirit who convicts sinners and points them to the Cross (Jn 16:8-11). It is the Holy Spirit who places the believer in the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:13). And He joins the Church in calling sinners to Christ! "The Spirit and the bride say, Come!" (Rev 22:17). Blessed work of the Spirit in evangelism and church planting.

8. To fight the enemy!

Of the sixfold annour of God five are meant for defense and only one for offense and that is the "Sword of the Spirit," which is the Word of God (Eph 6:10-13). The Holy Spirit guides us to choose the right Scripture verse or passage to speak against the enemy. The reply of Christ to the temptations of the devil was supplied by the Spirit from the Old Testament. The quotation was so sharp and right that the devil could not gainsay! Jesus did it "in the power of the Spirit" (Lk 4:1,14). After mentioning the sixfold armour, Paul immediately writes about "praying in the Spirit" (Eph 6:18).

The devil primarily attacks our mind because true religion resides in the mind alone. He causes doubts, disturbance, distraction, depression and so on to wean the soul from God. "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretention that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Cor 10:4,5).

When we are possessed and obsessed with the Holy Spirit we are insured against demon possession or obsession. "When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will put him to flight!" (Isa 59:19).

9. To bear suffering and persecution!

Our bodies are mortal but the Holy Spirit quickens and gives life (Rom 8:11). There is healing in the wings of the Spirit. His wind revives. He is the "Balm of Gilead." Christ healed people in the power of the Spirit (Acts 10:38; Isa 61:1-3). Healing is one of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor 12:9). Jesus said, "I drive out demons by the Spirit of God" (Mt 12:28). The oil of anointing over the sick is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter. How much we need comfort in sickbed! In all our distresses, the Holy Spirit is also distressed. He lifts us up and carries us like a mother carries her sick child (Isa 63:9,10).

Then there is persecution which none of us can avoid or escape. Here again the Holy Spirit is our Companion. "If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified!" (1 Pet 4:14). The secret of the radiant face of Stephen under the pelting of stones was "the fulness of the Spirit" (Acts 7:54,55). The expelled missionaries were filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit (13:49-52). "The Church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria... was strengthened and encouraged by the Holy Spirit; it grew in numbers!" (Acts 9:31).

Dr. Graham Staines - Memorial Day Jan 22

On this Day Jan 22: Dr. Graham Stuart Staines (On 22 Jan 1999) - an Australian missionary who, along with his two sons Philip (10) and Timothy (6), were burnt alive to death by a gang while sleeping in his station wagon at Manoharpur village in Keonjhar district in Odisha, India. 

We commit this great day to LOVE our enemies and FORGIVE those who intentionally did evil. We also pray for the safety of our dear Missionaries who sacrificially labor to build God's Kingdom.

 Dr.Staines had been working in Odisha since 1965. Most of us doesn't know his 34 years of "Leper's ministry" for Caring the Poor and Needy till his death. Staines' widow - Gladys continued to live in India caring for leprosy patients until she returned to Australia in 2004.

 In 2005 she was awarded the fourth highest civilian honor in India, Padma Shree, in recognition for her work with leprosy patients in Odisha.

A Religious priest won't touch a Leper. He wont even touch a Dailt, because such a "detestable human beings" are from "Low Caste".  Only a Christian Missionary filled with the true LOVE of CHRIST can do this ministry. 

When the whole world is running behind the money only chosen few are burning to serve the humanity.   Jesus said," Love one another". Let the world know that you are the disciples of Christ. ( John 13:35).

Benny Hinn cancels Bangalore visit

Bangalore: American evangelist Benny Hinn has cancelled his Bangalore visit days after there were widespread protests against a convention he was slated to hold. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), Kamal Pant has confirmed it to the media. Benny Hinn will not be a part of the prayer meet in Bangalore that is scheduled to start on Wednesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party and several right-wing groups claim that the self-proclaimed miracle healer was using this as a tool to convert people to Christianity, and that his prayer conference next week too would be a forum for conversion.

In the latest of such protests, a seer of a religious mutt in the north Karnataka town of Hubli allegedly even attempted suicide during a protest late on Saturday evening. The seer, Pranavanand Swamiji, was staging a protest to demand that the government not allow Hinn entry into Karnataka.

"We are opposed to it. The government should not give him permission, because it is an effort a conversion and conversion is against the Constitution," said VHP leader Praveen Togadia on a visit to Bangalore.

The Opposition BJP has also made its displeasure on Hinn being allowed for a conference known. "Pure and simple, Hinn is a fraud, a farce and he is a big showman. We don't want gullible people to be lured by him. The last time he had come, he made a derogatory comment that idol worship is equal to prostitution... that had hurt the sentiments of everyone," says BJP Karnataka spokesperson and former Minister S Suresh Kumar.

The organisations were against the propagation of superstitious beliefs they think will be promoted by "miracle healing" sessions that Hinn had conducted in his 2005 visit. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who was a deputy CM at that time, had himself said such sessions do not augur well for society. When he himself has said that before, it is for him to take a call. India is a country where all religions are given the right to preach, but nobody has the right to induce people to convert and use dirty tricks like posing to heal patients and lure them to convert. That is the main issue," Kumar added.

Adding voice to the call by saffron groups is the rationalist association. Says A S Nataraj, president of a local rationalists association, "My question is, if he can really touch and heal any disease or disorder just by touching, why, there are so many hospitals opened. Why can't he go to the hospitals and just go on touching all the patients and cure them? So this is just a drama, it is cheating. In another name, he is coming here."

But organizers of the event insisted that this conference is far different from the one organized nine years ago. "The last time, it was a public programme, this time it is a private one, a religious prayer conference. Last time it was free for all, this time, we are charging Rs 850 for participants. The last time, it was a Benny Hinn programme, this time he is one of the many speakers at the conference. There is no room for concerns on conversion as only Christians are coming, " says spokesperson for the church, P Chamarajan.

About 25,000 people were expected to attend the conference, as against the crowd of over 2 lakh people that participated in the healing and spiritual programme in 2005, when an entire aerodrome in the city's Jakkur area had been thrown open to hold the crowds.

He pointed out that the church cannot allow others to dictate to it on who should be invited as guests or preachers for their conference. "We have the liberty as to who will come and who we choose as guests. If protesters are going to decide who should speak at our conference, we will not be left with many options. If they choose, they will keep rejecting everybody. We have chosen Hinn because we believe he is good," Chamarajan argues.

"People need to think before they talk. If the sangh parivar is talking without thinking, I think it's very unfortunate to see what they are doing," Chamarajan adds.

His stand was further strengthened by the fact that a public interest litigation filed in the Karnataka High Court against the conference was dismissed by the court, which asked the police to ensure adequate law and order enforcement for the conference.

Pushed to a corner, the government too said it cannot stop a purely religious conference. "What is the controversy? Every time, there is a controversy. The police commissioner will look into it. It has nothing to do with the government, that's the police commissioner's job," Home Minister KJ George had said.

The city police had said that they had nothing against a religious conference, as far as law and order was not compromised. Those concerns exist as the 2005 conference had seen considerable communal tension and some rioting.

Cruel death of Jang Song North Korea - Most cruel and brutal - Example of Cruel heart of a Man

Unlike previous executions of political prisoners, the execution of Jang Song Thaek on December 12 was reportedly one of the most brutal ones ever conducted by the North Korean regime. 

According to a detailed account published in Wen Wei Po, a Hong Kong based Chinese newspaper, Jang Song Thaek, Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-Un's uncle and the second most powerful man in North Korea, was stripped naked and thrown into a cage of 120 hounds who had been starved for three days. 

During the brutal execution, which was reportedly personally overseen by Kim Jong Un, the hounds were allowed to prey on Jang Song Thaek and five of his closest aides who also had been stripped and thrown into the cage. According to the report, the entire process lasted for about an hour by the end of which they were completely eaten up. This is called "quan je" or "execution by dogs".

Political prisoners are usually executed by a firing squad.

Referring to the execution for the first time in his New Year's address, Kim Jong Un said that the state had become stronger after it was purged of "factional filth".

And as he called for better relations with South Korea, he warned that another war on the Korean peninsula would cause a massive nuclear disaster that would hit the US.

Kim, the third generation of his family to rule North Korea, did not refer by name to his uncle Jang Song Thaek, who was executed last month in a rare public purge for crimes against the ruling Workers' Party and harming national interest.

"Our party took a firm measure to get rid of factional filth that permeated the party," Kim said in a broadcast on state televsion that appeared to be pre-recorded, without showing if he was speaking to an audience.

"Our unity strengthened hundredfold and party and revolutionary lines became more solid by purging the anti-party and anti-revolutionary faction," Kim said.

After the sudden death of Kim's father in December 2011, Jang acted as regent to his young nephew as Kim established himself in power. With the purge, Kim may have chosen to remove the only man who may have posed any real threat to him.

Kim's call for improved ties with the South lacked any outline of steps to end the acrimony, and followed a threat from Pyongyang last month to strike Seoul without notice.

"It is time to end abuse and slander that is only good for doing harm ... We will try hard to improve North-South ties," Kim said, adding that "dark clouds of nuclear war constantly hovered over the Korean peninsula".

"If there ever is once again war on this land, it will bring about an enormous nuclear disaster and the United States will not be spared from it," he said.

The two Koreas remain technically at war under a truce that ended the 1950-53 Korean War. The US maintains 28,500 troops in South Korea in joint defence against the North.

All most all the times our decisions and deeds do affect others, and our own selves. The consequences are inevitable. Tolerance and patience will practice us make better decisions. We need to ask ourselves the following questions before we make decisions.

Bad decision means bad future.

 So in order to take right and good decisions, we got to go in line with scriptures. Seek His face or stay confused.

1. WILL IT BRING GLORY TO GOD ? - 1 Cor 10:31 “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” God must be taken as the first concern in all that we do.

2. WILL IT BE PROFITABLE?  1 Cor 10:23 “Everything is permissible-but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"-but not everything is constructive.” Our decisions should profit my Christian life, my witnessing life or my family life.

3. WILL IT EDIFY? 2 Cor 10:8 “… the Lord gave us for building you up rather than pulling you down,…” Our decisions should build our character or the family and the church in general.

4. WILL IT ENSLAVE ME ? 1 Cor 6:12 "Everything is permissible for me"-but I will not be mastered by anything.” Our decisions should not bring us to slavery.

5. WILL IT CHARACTERISTIC OF THE WORLD (or) OF THE LORD? 1 John 2:16 “For everything in the world — the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does — comes not from the Father but from the world.” Let our decisions show forth the attributes of God and not of the world.

Isaiah 55:8-9 “Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds.

PRAYER :- Father, help me in my decisions. Amen -
